Lajitas Golf Resort

Recently stayed at the Lajitas Golf Resort. It takes a bit to get to and there isn't much around, but if it that's what you're looking for, then I highly recommend it. The staff are some of the friendliest I've experienced. The hotel is a mix of rustic, wild west and old tyme charm all bundled up together. It's an experience itself! The property is very quiet with a few different dining options. If you're looking for an out of the way resort, this might be for you!

Just completed a 3 night stay at the fabulous Lajitas Golf Resort. The staff were very warm and welcoming throughout our entire stay. James assisting us to our room was most appreciated. The Resort location is perfect for accessing both the National and State parks plus there is world class golf on the premises. The accommodations are by far the best in the area and the dining, bar and breakfast cafe were each unique and fantastic. I highly recommend that you stay at Lajitas Golf Resort if you’re ever in the glorious southwest Texas region!

Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa exceeded every expectation and delivered an unforgettable luxury escape in the heart of West Texas. From the moment we arrived, the remote beauty of the Big Bend region—dramatic desert landscapes, rugged mountains, and breathtaking views along the Rio Grande—left us in awe. The scenery alone is worth the trip; it’s truly one of the most spectacular settings imaginable. We stayed in one of the spacious Boardwalk Condos, which felt like a high-end home away from home. The huge layout included multiple bedrooms, full bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, cozy living areas with fireplaces, and private outdoor seating—perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. Everything was impeccably clean, comfortably appointed, and thoughtfully decorated with Southwestern charm. The highlight was playing Black Jack’s Crossing, a pro-level championship course designed by Lanny Wadkins. The conditions were absolutely pristine: lush fairways, lightning-fast greens, perfectly manicured tees, and challenging yet fair layout that tests every aspect of your game. With elevation changes, stunning desert vistas, and those iconic holes near the Rio Grande, it ranks among the best I’ve ever played—truly world-class in a one-of-a-kind location. Dining was another standout. The Candelilla Café offered Michelin-level quality with creative Southwestern cuisine, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented dishes that rival top urban restaurants. From breakfast to dinner, the food was exceptional, the service attentive and professional, and the ambiance elegant yet relaxed. The entire resort staff was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. Whether golfing, dining, or simply soaking in the views, everything ran flawlessly. If you’re seeking a luxurious, secluded getaway with elite golf, top-tier accommodations, gourmet dining, and jaw-dropping natural beauty, Lajitas is an absolute must. We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend—5 stars aren’t enough.

We were absolutely blown away by our experience at Lajitas Golf Resort. We stayed three nights at Maverick RV Ranch and enjoyed dining at the restaurant, a private long-range shooting session, a spa treatment, and a round of golf. The food was excellent, and the spa treatment was truly first-rate. What made the experience even better was discovering such a hidden gem tucked away in far West Texas. You don’t expect to find this level of quality and service so far off the beaten path. Every staff member we encountered was outstanding — friendly, professional, and genuinely happy to be there. From check-in at the RV ranch to the spa, restaurant, and golf pros who invited us to play with them, the service was exceptional. We travel extensively and have stayed at top luxury resorts, and this was hands down the best overall staff experience we’ve ever had. We will absolutely be back.

Our stay at Lajitas Golf Resort was incredible. The rooms were nice, quiet, and perfectly set against the stunning desert landscape. The staff made everything feel effortless. The food was awesome. The bakery was our go-to for quick bites every day of our stay. The golf course was a highlight. It was in immaculate condition and the views were unforgettable along the Rio Grande. Truly a one-of-a-kind West Texas escape.

We loved staying at the Maverick Ranch RV park! Bathrooms were clean and the pool was nice. Great home base as well toured and hiked Big Bend Ranch State Park. Hubby played golf and really liked the course. This will be a regular spot for us!

Lajitas Golf Resort is hands down, one of the most unique and breathtaking destinations in the country. Our recent stay was nothing short of spectacular, blending rugged West Texas adventure with the kind of refined service that makes you feel like the only guest on the property. ​The experience via JSX was incredibly nice and flawlessly handled, making the journey into the desert as seamless as the stay itself. ​The golf course is absolutely world-class. Black Jack’s Crossing is easily one of the most stunning courses I have ever played. The layout is challenging yet rewarding, and the conditions were pristine from tee to green. Standing on the tee box with those sweeping mountain views and the Rio Grande in the distance is an experience that every golfer needs to have at least once. It is truly a masterpiece in the desert. ​What truly stands out at Lajitas is the people. Every employee we encountered greeted us with a warm hello and went out of their way to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed. That level of consistent, proactive hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. A special thanks to Martina for the great drinks and wonderful service! ​The dining experience was equally impressive—the food and drinks were consistently great throughout our stay. The green salsa is a sleeper and a must-try. ​We particularly enjoyed the variety of accommodations during this trip. We spent part of our stay at the Cavalry Post before moving over to the Cottage for a more secluded experience. Both were immaculate, and the transition between the two was handled with the kind of seamless professionalism that defines Lajitas Golf Resort ​To John and Matt: We want to extend our sincere gratitude for the incredible hospitality and the personal attention shown to us during our visit. The Candelilla is better than ever. We’ve been coming here off and on for 26 years and it was the best yet. My Alaskan salmon was excellent and my husband was extremely pleased with his hearty 8-oz filet. Karlo was spot on with the service and even kindly offered to snap a photo of us in celebration of our 26th anniversary. We love the atmosphere, especially the chance to dine outdoors. Kudos to the management and staff for taking the Candelilla to a new level of dining experience in the beautiful Big Bend middle of nowhere!
